Lode Smeets, Solo Trombonist Philharmonic Orchestra Zuidnederland

For a long time I was looking for an instrument that met all my requirements. I use the alto trombone in various instrumentations, including the trombone octet, trombone quartet and, since last year, increasingly as solo trombonist of the Philharmonie Zuidnederland. In the past, the problem often arose of combining the various requirements in one instrument. Either the instrument sounded perfect for trombone ensemble and too small for orchestra or vice versa.

With Markus I have now found the alto trombone, which is made in various material combinations, with which I feel comfortable in all areas. In the meantime I have been able to use my new Markus Leuchter alto trombone in ensembles such as the Crossbones Trombone Collective, The Bone Society and of course the Philharmonie Zuidnederland. The sound is perfect for all situations. I am very satisfied with the response of the instrument, the different possibilities of sound design, intonation, articulation,.... everything fits perfectly.
