"I am delighted with my new alto trombone made by Markus Leuchter. He is an exceptional craftsman, the instrument is beautifully made, and he was very helpful indeed in discussing what my requirements were. The instrument is amazingly versatile, enabling me to play both in authentic performances of Schumann and Brahms (for example), and also in modern instrument contexts. It has great projection, but is also capable of great *piano* dynamics and blending with other instruments in the section."

His main position is Principal trombone in the Royal Ballet Sinfonia, and founder member of Onyx Brass. He combines this with a busy freelance career in which he has worked as guest principal trombone with the London Philharmonic, Philharmonia, BBC Symphony, Royal Philharmonic, English National Opera, and Royal Opera House Orchestras, as well as the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, and the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, the English Chamber Orchestra, Academy of St. Martin's, the London Sinfonietta and the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment.

He has also played for many film soundtracks, including 'Lord of the Rings', 'Harry Potter', 'Terminator Salvation', 'Inception'and "Paranorman". Abroad, he has worked with Ensemble Modern of Frankfurt and is guest principal with the Orquesta Ciudad de Granada in Spain. He is also a member of the City of London Sinfonia.
